Hello Learners, and Welcome to my life’s footprints!

We all know that life is a journey, and mine has certainly been one of twists and turns! From an academic high achiever in India to a multi-tasking student in Canada, I've worn many hats and learned a ton along the way. 

Hey everyone, my name is Riya Chhabra, and I'm thrilled to be starting this blog! Buckle up, because I've got quite the adventure to share.

Let's rewind a bit. Back in school, I was all about academics, Ever since I aced my 10th-grade exams with a perfect 10 CGPA (that's all A's for those not familiar!), I've known I craved a career that intellectually and professionally challenged me. My journey, (however, my path has sometimes been linear) has been a whirlwind of experiences, each one shaping who I am today!

In 2020, with a dream to explore the world of management and economics, I landed at Yorkville University in Canada. Life threw its curveballs – witnessing the struggles of the Covid-19 outbreak in India, and then juggling the challenges of being an international student became a plot twist for me. But hey, that's what made the journey so interesting!

Witnessing the struggles families faced during COVID-19 in India, including my own, shaped my perspective. It ignited a fire in me to become financially independent and create a secure future. When I finally landed in Canada in 2021, I knew I had to be resourceful. So, while I hit the books, I also hustled as a part-time warehouse associate, customer service representative, security officer, and even a retail specialist! Each role offered a new piece to the puzzle and a valuable lesson, not just financially, but also in understanding diverse work cultures.

But my journey wasn't confined to the work world, amidst the busy schedule,  I discovered a hidden passion – writing! The lockdowns fueled my creativity, and my poems and quotes found a surprising audience within my university's cultural clubs. I even got to perform at events like traditional evenings and Diwali celebrations!

And the plot thickens! with a thirst for knowledge that goes beyond textbooks, I'm juggling work and studies once again.  My love for languages recently sparked my delving into the fascinating world of French. Plus, my fascination with economics is leading me down the path of data analysis – statistics are my new best friend! (Don't worry, math wasn't always my favorite back in the 10 CGPA days!)

So, why this blog? It's a space for me to share my experiences, learnings, and maybe even some of those poems and quotes along the way. I may not have all the answers yet, but I'm determined to keep exploring my career path and learning as much as I can. One thing's for sure – it'll be a journey filled with exploration, learning, and hopefully, a little bit of inspiration for you too
